Why do I say Shaivism is universal religion? Shaivism is Cosmos introducing itself to you. If you understand that is enough, Shaivism is the most simple religion.

If you understand the Cosmos, you will simply not touch non-vegetarian food. It is Cosmos introducing its existence. It is like Cosmos talking about its own Ontology, which is the Jnana pada of Shaivism.

The Bhuvanas, universes and the principles which manifest universes, that core principle – Paramashiva introducing His existence is Ontology of Shaivism. That is the Ontology of Vedas and Agamas. The Veda agama pramana, when ultimate truths are crystalized with right words is called Pramana.

When you understand cosmos introducing itself, all the cosmic principles become your cognition. When you understand cosmos introducing itself, you will just know life is life is life.

There are two major Panchangams – Suttapathiyam panchangam is for temple rituals. For all cosmic happening, we use Tirukanitha panchangam. Tirukanitham is like master of universe happening. Suttapathiyam is precisely for planet earth. Many temples and mutts accept only one. Only Adikailasa accepts both.
